Code of Conduct



Kansas City eSports believes that all players should be able to play in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. This Code of Conduct applies to all players, coaches, managers, spectators, and event attendees participating in Kansas City eSports sanctioned or sponsored events both live and online including but not limited to: 

  • Open tournaments

  • Invitational tournaments

  • Qualifying tournaments

  • Online tournaments / ladders 

  • Showcase Matches

  • Playtests

  • LAN competitions

  • WAN competitions

All players are expected to be respectful of tournament and venue staff, sponsors, and partners. 

Cheating and Gameplay 

No forms of cheating will be tolerated. This includes software modification, hardware modification, match fixing, hacking, exploiting game glitches, impersonation (including playing under another player’s account), collusion, or any other behaviour as determined by Kansas City eSports. 

Players may not intentionally delay or slow gameplay, including but not limited to stalling, disconnecting, disrupting network connectivity, or any other known or unknown manner of tampering with gameplay. 

Drugs and Alcohol 

The use of drugs or alcohol leads to disruptive behavior and will not be tolerated. Players believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during tournaments may be removed at the discretion of Kansas City eSports and/or the Venue’s officials. No references to illegal substances will be tolerated. 



Players may not make obscene gestures, use offensive language, or make offensive comments during tournaments and events or before, during, and after tournaments and events while on venue premises.

These include: 

  • Hate speech or discriminatory behaviour

  • Violent or physical aggression or behaviour

  • Threats

  • Sexual harassment of any kind

  • Racist, homophobic, transphobic, anti-Semitic or sexist words, phrases or gestures

  • Extreme profanity

  • Any “sound-alike” or “look-alike” words or phrases that reference these topics

  • Any other type of conduct deemed inappropriate at the discretion of tournament and/or venue officials.

Penalties and Disciplinary Action 

By participating in any Kansas City eSports sanctioned or sponsored online or live event(s), players agree to be bound by the final decisions of the designated Tournament and Venue Officials.

Kansas City eSports officials or designated representatives can, at their discretion, take the following disciplinary actions: 

  • Up to 2 verbal warnings with expulsion from event after 3rd infraction may be given for less severe misconduct

  • Gross misconduct will result in instant removal from online and live tournaments/events

Please note: Anyone expelled from an event due to failure to abide by the Code of Conduct will not be refunded for any venue, entry, or spectator fees already paid.

In addition, tournament officials may on a case by case basis take additional disciplinary measures including:

  • Partial or full withholding of prize money

  • Temporary or permanent suspension from future participation in Kansas City eSports tournaments and events both online and in-person

Kansas City eSports will cooperate with law enforcement and pursue prosecution for any illegal activities




We expect all players to act with competitive and personal integrity at all times and to show good sportsmanship, honesty, and fair play. Kansas City eSports events should be safe and welcoming for all players from all backgrounds.

Kansas City eSports reserves the right to update or change this Code of Conduct at any time.
